2011.12 - Christmas is a time for giving for DCSDCS Europe has once again shown its Christmas spirit by donating ‘Enliven' Gift bags to patients and staff at The Shakespeare Hospice. Over 200 gift bags have been donated, each containing health and beauty products manufactured here in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Denys Shortt, Chairman and CEO of DCS said "We are really pleased to continue our support of the Hospice. It provides an invaluable service to our local community and we are committed to helping the communities in which we operate. We have supported the Hospice for some time now and are delighted to be able to spread some Christmas cheer."
Head of Fundraising at the Hospice, Robin Haslam said "I am very grateful to Denys and DCS for this very generous donation of gifts. Christmas is a special time and the Hospice offers a real life-line to many local families coping with a life threatening illness. Through their actions, DCS has again shown that they are true friends of the Hospice and of the local community we both serve".
Enliven health and beauty products are made in Stratford-upon-Avon and are available online at http://www.brandrefill.co.uk/ . For more information on Enliven please visit http://www.enliven.co.uk/
The Shakespeare Hospice
As an idea to help raise money for our local Hospice Denys Shortt has created an 'Christmas e-card'. Businesses can benefit from a bespoke e-card and save on buying cards (cutting down trees) and postage - at the same time donate £250 to the hospice. DCS is helping the Shakespeare Hospice with Christmas e-card designs and with other graphic design work (free of charge) through DCS Creative.
Also each year instead of sending Christmas Cards we have decided to send an e-card and make a £500 donation to the Shakespeare Hospice
The Shakespeare Hospice is an independent local charity providing specialist palliative day care for adults diagnosed with a life-limiting illness in the Stratford upon Avon district.
Their specialist palliative nursing care and support enables patients to continue living at home with their families whilst receiving active treatment, or for as long as possible when active treatment has ceased.
County Air Ambulance
Denys Shortt is a vice-president of the County Air Ambulance Trust.
The Country Air Ambulance is run entirely from public donations and has saved thousands of lives.
The "golden hour" after an accident is the most important hour of an accident victims life. A helicopter transfer is fast, smooth and can make a life-saving difference.
